ComPLETEly Recovered!

SHES 100% BACK TO NORMAL NOW!! HOORAY! Just finished dinner, and went to go check on Kajsa. She looked at me, then continued on with her routinely 30-min wash. When she finished, I stuck my hand in, and she wandered around it for a bit. A minute later, she clambered up and ran across my arm, just like usual. For the next 20 minutes, my little sis and I played with our lil baby; it's been so long!

When we put Kajsa back, she jumped around, wanting to come back out. I got more rice for her, but she rejected it, in favor of my hand+arm, which she climbed up in a split second. After that, she REFUSED to go back into her home. I had to make her slide off my hand!

My mom's really glad Kajsa's alright too. Kajsa's her favorite little hammy, besides Tammy, of course. :P My mom, like the rest of us, would've been heartbroken if Kajsa met the same fate as her poor little sister, Ida...

Sweet baby Kajsa. How we've all missed you ;D <3

Photos

Haha I keep forgetting to post photos of Kajsa. I'm not going to take any new ones yet, since the camera might stress the hammy a bit, so here are some of the pics I took the night before she got wet tail.

Recovered!

!! Kajsa has made a full recovery! She's back to her normal 'ol self again! :D!! After dinner, I noticed she had runned on her wheel, and when I got near, she ran over to me. I opened the lid of her bin-home and stuck my hand+arm in, and sure enough, Kajsa crawled up (after some slight sniffing and the sort)! Miraculous recovery. Oh my GOD how I've missed her...

Infinite <3s to my lil baby ^o^

Kajsababy

Kajsababy is coming out of it. She had wet tail since Saturday, with dramatic deterioration on Monday, but a quick recovery starting that same day. Ida, her younger sister whom we bought at the same time as Kajsa, died of wet tail two weeks after we got her. Kajsa at the time was in a different home (cage/bin), and so did not get infected by the bacteria that cause wet tail. Following Ida's death, we took extreme caution in handling Kajsa, for fear of lingering bacteria. However, it has now been seven months since I've had her, and she has been happy, fat, and healthy. Up till Saturday, anyways. Kajsa has always seemed like a stronger hamster to us, both mentally and physically. Ida would tag behind Kajsa, so much at times that Kajsa would provoke her little sis. This was actually the reason I split the two into two different cages. Kajsa attacked Ida frequently, usually when Ida was being just too persistent in sticking to Kajsa. Anyhow, I split them up, and Ida fell into a stressful time. Thus, she obtained wet tail. And died.

Back to the point. Kajsa is now doing well. It has been four days since the first signs of wet tail, and through her own strength alone, Kajsa has survived, and is doing well. She has not fully recovered yet, but she's getting there. Most symptoms are gone, and she's getting more crazy with each passing hour. Haha! I've missed her so much... Hopefully I get to play with her again soon!

I'm tired, and lost my train of thought throughout this entire entry (I'm sure you can tell...). Back to homework...!
